Islington Park Salford is a burial site for over 17,000 local residents, mostly young, who died in the harsh years between 1829 and 1858.Originally it was part of the Irwell St Chapel.

The park has been planted and tended by Salford City Council and in 1992 had some great mosaic artwork placed by the local St Philips School.

This mosaic is now in need of repair and we are working with the original pupils from 1992, their children and the school to source the funds and restore this piece of artwork.

The area is part of the wider development plans for Chapel St. We believe the park can be enhanced with care and local involvement with planners.
